Style Icon of 2009

As a second thought, I think this girl was the one I kept going back to for reference more than anybody else. I still can't get over her ease in front of the camera and the inherent style and pizzaz she projects - more than "wears". So, congratulations, Burnt-orange-pumps-cobbled Young Woman, you are my icon of the year!

Style Icons of 2009

Thought I'd rummage through this year's loot and compile a short list of all the characters/outfits that I found inspiring the past year. So here it is, in no particular order:

The Emerald Shoes

No, she's not a facion student. A filmmaker! Phew

Beret - Twirly Mustache Combo

This is crazy stuff! The mustache combined with the day-glo legwamers? Ingenious!

Part of my beret series

The Military Belt

Sometimes it's just a detail that catches my attention. Here, it was the silhouette first, then, when I caught up with them, did I realise it was a separate belt keeping the waist so tight. A beautiful military style leather number
