Yohji Yamamoto Opening at the V&A - Beauty (Part 2)

You're at a Yamamoto party so naturally your brain is on a Japanese cutting edge design default mode. Your mind goes "Oh, I recognise that! Yohji S/S '07" or "I just love those Miyake pleats, dahling". So, not surprisingly, I was drawn to this stunning former model in her daring yellow Comme De Garcons A/W '10 poncho...Er, except that upon investigating, this innovative design turned out to have come directly from the shelves of non other than the local garden centre. £3.50! How ridiculous did I feel! And I loved being fooled by my own snobbery...

LWF A/W '11 The Upholstery Fabric Cape

I wasn't going to feature this as it's a crap picture, but then at closer inspection I relasied what a gem it is. My initial focus was on the woman in her long-john-type leggings (Obsession? What obsession!) and her cobalt blue handbag. But hang on; what IS going on there in front of her?! Surely not a cape made out of an imaginative fashion buyer's sofa-cover in bright fuschia! And if that wasn't krazy enough, let's match that with a canary yellow pair of platforms! It's madness I tell you but beautiful madness it is and we ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!

London Fashion Week '10...The Yellow Cape @ Erdem

I must be slipping. Another bleeding model! But that cape was just stunning - and in my fave colour, so what can a lad do?!
