One of the most beautiful women of the day. (Somehow they always tend to come from outside the tents and not off the catwalk. Most models have the looks for sure but what's lacking is a sense of personality, fire, character. They seem bored, spoiled and full of attitude - boring. Give me Natalia Vodianova with her teenage years on the breadline any day!)
I fancy it's all vintage. Love the fire red pleated maxi skirt and the lime green/red shoes and matching belt. Molto-sexy look (sic). Lovely woman too

One Stylish Chica
Grrrrr this is soo hot: the brogues, the sockless short jeans look, the folklore-patterned pouch, the land-girls scarf - it all works absolutely understatedly but perfectly. Congrats! A sure style icon nominee come December this year.

The Pasolini Character
I was on the prowl for my "Faces" project of mine when I happened upon this gent. As a matter of fact it was his snazzy little canvas hat and the way it sat on his head that grabbed my attention first. It was only later that I realised what treasure of a face I'd discovered behind the fruit stalls. It's only natural then that I was immediately deflated upon hearing that I was not indeed the first one discovering this boxer profile but none other than one of the giants of Italian cinema. Pasolini was scouting for cast and locations in London in the early '70s for his Canterbury Tales when he came across this chap and hired him on the spot. The stories he must have to tell his grandchildren!!!!
The Yellow Dress
My favourite colour de jour: lemon or maze. Perfect accessorising going on here too. Lace socks, anyone?!
Mixed Patterns
A daring - and dare we say, successful - combination of geometric (bag) with floral (headscarf) patterns. Why were we not surprised then when it transpired that the young woman was a textile designer?! Nevertheless we rate this "most styling"
"Vintage" Adidas High-tops
I was convinced that I was looking at some obscure '70 sneakers but subsequently it was inferred to me that they were freebies from the shoemaker itself ie brand new. The chap, playing the mysterious card, wouldn't divulge any more information, but from the company he was keeping it was rather obvious he was one of those hip young rock and roll stars on the up whom fashion houses have on their books to keep their brand young and hip. Well, it seems to work if even old cynics like SNTF fall for it

The Short Long Trousers
We came across this fellow one rainy afternoon sporting these adventurously short jeans. At first it was the length and the mustard yellow socks that caught our attention but only at closer inspection did we notice the unusual details of his Japanese re-assembled Dickies. No roll-ups for this gent, he's the real deal with the chutzpah to wear his jeans at Thom Brown lengths. We like...
Further discussions revealed that he was none other than one of our very favourite Tv commercials directors, Jake Ne-o!
Freeline Skates
You heard it here first, kids! Banish your dad's hip (ahem) online skates and your older bros's passe skateboards! My crystal ball says be ready for the next craze on the street: Freeline skates - a bastard child of yesteryear's skating innovations. They seem devilishly easy and fun to operate. Disappointingly, they're only available in the U.S. at the moment
New Balance 1300/576
I'm strictly a 576 club member but these yellow 1300s are true beauties. Found in a Barcelona sneaker shop called, of all things, wait for it: HACKNEY! Hmmmm...At €160 a pop, they're rather dear by NB standards - even for Hackney! (har har)

...And then the backlash against fixed gear bikes begins. The truckie hat of the moment has started showing its first signs of exhaustion/oversaturation when even Notting Hill bankers begin turning up on them at Canary Wharf in their sharply cut-suits. And yet the former bike couriers' preferred form of transport refuses to go to its final resting place without a fight - it only transmogrifies into something equally sexy but, mon dieu, practical! The candy colours and unfussy design remain but gears make a most welcome return...
